There are a few major options when generating avatars (people) in the simulation.

Firstly, when they are generated:

  • Static: Avatars will generate at the start of the simulation (t=0).
  • Dynamic: Avatars will also generate per second throughout the simulation. (It is always recommended to set a maximum Limit on the number of agents that can be generated from this distribution.)

Also, where they are generated:

  • Circle: Avatars will always start within the defined circle.
  • Room: Regardless of how big the circle is, avatars will start evenly across the whole room.
  • Rectangle: Avatars will always start within the defined rectangle.

Clicking on a Distribution

After placing an agent distribution down in the environment, you can click on it to bring up more settings.

These include:

  • Group Settings
  • Timetable Settings
  • Designation Settings
  • Color

Timetable Settings

If you click on the Timetable button, the timetable settings will appear. Here you can load in a population timetable that will override the other settings.

The .csv file to load should be in this format:

Depending on the generation type selected, avatars will be generated in a few different ways:

As a reminder, the poisson distribution has a probability curve as below:
