Behavioural Mode
Smart Crowd Model provides two distinct modes of behaviour for pedestrians. To toggle this, click the button at the top centre of the software, named "Emergency" or "Normal".
- Emergency: This mode specifies an emergency or rush situation where pedestrians will walk or run at higher speeds in an attempt to leave the environment as fast as possible. Other items will switch to emergency mode, for example the ticket gates will stay open, there will be less personal space, and personal reaction time will be simulated.
- Normal: This more specifies a normal and relaxed behaviour of pedestrians as they travel around the environment, with the ultimate aim of leaving, personal space will be increased, as well as changes to walking speeds in various places.
There are some academic options to further enhance the Normal behavioral mode with stochastic features.
